How to Craft a Unique Yet Feasible Summer Bucket List

Do you create goal lists that contain tasks outside of your reach? I do, so I decided to learn how to craft a unique yet feasible summer bucket list. Sounds simple enough, right?

My main bucket list is in the note section of my phone. I would need to win Lotto to accomplish most of the tasks on that list. Eight of the eleven tasks listed involve travel. I have been to enough seminars and self-help talks to know that starting small with something like this is best. So, I decided to craft a seasonal list instead. Everything I come up with will be doable this summer.

Preparing Your Summer Bucket List

  • 1) Set the mood. Find a place where you feel calm and serene and know you will not get interrupted. Make yourself your favorite beverage, and add background music to encourage you to write. Light your favorite candle. Start daydreaming and writing things down.
  • 2) Any current regrets? Firstly, remember to create your bucket list because you want to live! It is not because you intend to “kick the bucket” anytime soon. Instead, it is so you do not have many regrets when you are older. Begin by writing down any regrets you already feel. Think about your friend group. Has anyone done something you wish you could do? Ideas may be close to home.
  • 3) Vow to be intentional. You need to commit to taking this seriously and delve inside yourself to uncover desires you haven’t thought about in years. What did you want to do when you were a child, teenager, college kid, or adult? Did you want to shake hands with an astronaut after watching “Appollo 13?” Do you still want to? Write all of these memories down. Now concentrate on your life today. What would you love to do? Any current burning desires? Write them down.
  • 4) Review Your List. Purge anything (for now) that is not doable in the summertime. Figure out the number of items you want on your summer bucket list. Make your list in order of importance to get to that number.
  • 5) Establish your game plan. You need to plan this out to make it a reality. Do not delay! It will be Labor Day before you know it.

I put a little twist on the summer bucket list I created. Mine focuses on self-care; it’s a bit of a selfish bucket list. My husband and I need to compile another one for both of us. Below is what I’d like to accomplish this summer.
